Shit is going down when the sky looks like a fucked up game of Scrabble letters blotting out the moon.

Adrian recognizes the Unown swarming in the city quickly enough, and begins heading straight towards them with an obvious goal in mind: Since they R present, Adrian will hunt them expeditiously for the sake of completing the report, if for no better reason than to figure out why that man in the Slateport night market expelled that strange, lavender miasma. Give me the UNOWN SHIV.

Anyway, when Chu-e heard this was happening, he was like super ready to try and throw a ball at one of these damn alphabet fuckers. They were all the hot new rage and he just had to have one; Chu-e was a tween girl in a movie and the Unown were the thing that were totally keeping him from being popular and getting a Total Fucking Hottie BF. Like, this was just like that. It was the same. As soon as he actually got one, he would forget about it, and then he would discover that the confidence inside of himself was what made him cool. Or something like that.

Anyway, these fuckers were getting a ball tossed at them. Maybe a Salac, too.

Melody looked around petalburg and saw a barrage of strangely shaped pokemon franticly flying around. They seemed pretty lost and confused and so Melody tried to talk to them "Listen here u...STRANGE ALPHABET CREATURES, CALM DOWN! OK!? Gavin frowns as he watches the swarm of Unown from a distance, a swirl of black and white alphabet soup against the quiet backdrop of a Petalburg night. He thinks of Lulu Flint's concern over the report and of the strange device he still carried in spite of her warnings.

Though he pulls out the device to attempt a scan, it doesn't seem to be able to get a proper read on any of them.

There's probably too many in one place.

Fishing an empty luxury ball from his supply, he rolls it against his palm while scouting the peculiar swarm. His target is an outlier from their number, an UNOWN FORME X that darts nervously along the edges.

Search for Unown for weeks and find close to nothing, walk around Petalburg one fateful day and stumble upon a whole damn swarm of one-eyed letters. Typical.

The fun thing about learning to read was that for Hideo, it was completely tactile. Braille was a lot faster for him to read, but he could still recognize the shapes of letters and punctuation. And he did enjoy reading; it was a great way to pass the time, and he’d made sure to bring at least a couple books with him.

For things that he couldn’t understand tactilely, his Beheeyem could read for him; he didn’t know how Elga learned to read, or how he could transmit the words flawlessly when any other Telepathic communication was vague, but Hideo didn’t think too much on it.

What did that have to do with the current situation? Well, there was a swarm of letters floating around doing...swarm stuff. And Hideo did have an Unown Dictionary to help fill out. So with his Beheeyem’s guidance, he aimed a ball at the closest one - an X.

Hopefully X marked the spot his Pokeball would hit.

she didn't know much about the unowns. just that Zac Ramsay was hunting them and that must mean they were at least a little bit important. they'd gone on a hunt together and she was still itching to find more of them. the letter z would be good to show him if she could get it. after all that was his name. there was a whole alphabet of these pokemon swarming around the place. so finding the one that started with the right letter was like picking a needle out of a haystack. but she was still going to try.

The Unown floated through the air, circling and linking up with each other as if they were trying to spell out some kind of codeword. For a moment, Cardamom just observed, trying to get a better look and figure out if they actually meant anything. However, his eyes lit up slightly when he saw an exclamation-point shaped Unown that seemed to be lagging behind the rest.
